Barristers Case Study

Client and Objective

Benet Brandeth of 11 South Square contacted the London Quest Company to organize a Quest. Their objective was to create a Quest that would engage the group, allow them to show off their own talents and be great fun.

group

As all the group where criminal lawyers we decided that the narrative should retain an element of reality and give the opportunity for two teams to put a case together, find the evidence and then debate the ‘crime’ at the end of the day.

The Quest - The Store Cupboard

The story was based around Charles Clarke’s departure from the cabinet and his position of Home Secretary. The groups travelled around central London finding characters that had been caught up in an immigration scandal that if hadn’t been true would have been disregarded as unbelievable fiction.

policeman

They travelled around central London meeting civil servants, Charles Clarkes special advisor and found numerous articles from journalists arguing both points of view.

After completing their travels they found themselves in The London Quest Court Room. One team was given the task of defending Charles Clarke putting together a case for his push for the position of PM. The other team had to defend Gordon Brown’s position and prove that Charles Clarke was unfit to hold any form of office.

debate

The debate was heated and the arguments well structured, the winner was going to be tough to call. However one group had made a fatal mistake, the teams had been shown footage from a security camera of the Home Office building and had erased its content. It reeked of sabotage and left no doubt in the jury’s mind that what they had said before could not be taken seriously. The case was won and Gordon Brown’s lawyers had failed.

Feedback – Benet Brandeth

‘Many thanks to you and your team for organising a very entertaining afternoon.  Everyone enjoyed it enormously and it was a great success.’
