The Harry Red Affair

TLQC was contacted by ‘MentornTV’, a production company specialising in documentary and reality television, to organise a quest on the streets of London. Taking reality television as our inspiration we devised an elaborate narrative detailing the exploits of a contestant (Harry Red) from the recent series ‘Space Cadets’, who having escaped from his enforced hotel confinement, was desperately trying to sell his tell-all story to some of the nation’s leading newspapers. Playing the roles of investigative journalists our intrepid questers set out in teams in pursuit of the elusive Harry Red, determined to capture a prized scoop for their respective newspaper.

Their search took them through some of London’s finest landmarks. From the Science Museum in Kensington, through the centre of chic Soho and eventually to an outdoor ice rink in the heart of Maritime Greenwich. Along their quest they encountered several eccentric characters, including a deranged surfer preaching to the masses amidst the hubbub of Speaker’s Corner, a frantically paranoid Harry who could only communicate by telephone, and finally his apocalyptically protective father at the family home in Greenwich.

With several vital documents including Harry’s diary and his original application for the TV show slowly leaked to the teams throughout the course of the day, previously baffling threads started falling into place as the questers solved cryptic riddles, scoured for hidden items and used their investigative skills to find the whereabouts of the escapee.

As the sun set the teams took to the ice for a gentle skate in the middle of The Royal Naval College, their memorable search had finally come to an end, but not without one final twist. As our questers drank their well earned pints and the victors sipped at their champagne in a traditional East-End pub they were left wondering who the real space cadets were after all......
