Single Venue - Murder Mystery

London Quest were asked to provide some entertainment for Tony Worth’s 60th Birthday. The Worth’s event was orgainised by his wife, she asked us to provide some theatrical entertainment that was interactive, personalized and retained an element of ‘who dun it?’

The Quest

Tony is an ex RAF pilot and a real outdoorsy type interested in most outdoor pursuits. We created a piece of theatre that incorporated elements of promenade theatre, murder mystery and staged theatre.
The story was based on the relationships between characters from the cast of a movie called ‘The Dorset Debonair’.

These relationships, although seemed perfectly normal from the outside, where in actual fact quite strained. It did not take long before this tension reared its ugly head, culminating in the lead, William Shoes, popping his clogs and tumbling into the swimming pool.

The director, Buzz Allen, did all he could by jumping in to save him, however he was too late, Shoes had been poisoned. Buzz fearing for his movie asked the question, who is responsible?

Guests searched the house and its grounds for clues and the characters, who had all quickly realized that they were suspects in the crime and had hidden looking for an albeit.

The Worth’s family and friends put together their conclusions and accused one of the characters, giving reasons for their theories.
Once all the answers had been collected, the cast re–enacted a scene and the culprit, Charlotte Heath’s motive became clear.

The winning team ended up being the group of children who had put their heart and soul into their questioning and their investigations.
FeedbackPippa Worth

Thanks so much to you, Richard, Ben, Claire and Vicky for coming down to entertain us so well yesterday I was amazed and very impressed at how you all could keep in character with all the party banter etc. going on!  I loved the way you incorporated the info about Tony into the script – very amusing!
